How does RadSec work ?

• The RadSec protocol is the RADIUS protocol which uses the Transport Secure Layer (TLS) protocol for end-to-end secure communication
• Port 2083 is used for communication
• RadSec support 2 working modes:

. The traditional RADIUS peering model. 

. The DNS-discovery model with the dedicated certificates to establish the trust

Please do mind that RadSec is this still an i.e.t.f. draft document and only 3 software providers implement it:

1. OSC Radiator, a platform independent RADIUS server, which is not free of charge
    
2. RadSecproxy developed by our colleagues of UNINETT, with is an open source RADIUS proxy server
    
3. FreeRadius 3.X, which is an open source RADIUS server
